Manchester City & England rising star!
Sam’s journey so far:
After spending his time at former clubs Millwall FC and Chelsea FC, Sam made his move to Manchester in 2019! After being a huge player within the academy, Sam was heavily involved in City’s 2021/22 pre season fixtures.
The 2021/22 summer's pre-season programme at Manchester City has provided a golden opportunity for the club's young players to catch Pep Guardiola's eye. The 18-year-old has been one of the stars of City's pre-season, scoring in all three of their friendly matches ahead of Saturday's Community Shield clash against Leicester City at Wembley Stadium.
He will continue his development at City in the U23s this season, under the careful nurturing of new coach Brian Barry-Murphy, who has arrived at the club after leaving his role as Rochdale manager.
But there is no doubting that he is a player that Guardiola will be keeping a scouting brief on after his displays in pre-season.

Sam’s APD journey:
Sam attended our Friday Night Elite Centre during his development from a young player. From a young age, Sam was able to develop his football to the next level with our amazing coaches every week. The elite centre sessions allowed Sam to do extra training away from his team which allowed his game to develop a lot faster and he therefore became very advanced from a young age!
Sam was one of many players to attend our elite centre and then become a professional footballer and live the dream they had as children day in, day out!
Harry Watling:
Harry is APD’s Founder and Director. He was one of the country’s youngest coaches to gain the UEFA A and B license at the ripe ages of 26 and 18.
Harry had a huge part to play in Sam’s development. Whilst attending our Friday Night Elite Centre, Sam was coached and guided by Harry. He was able to learn a style of football that allowed him to stand out against other players his age. Along with this, Harry enabled Sam to be confident and brave within football through communication and honesty within every session!
