APD Director of Football Assigns Tom Fitzgerald and Ben Bennett as Halley Head and Assistant Coach
After Halley Head coach moved on to a new chapter in the summer, we can now finally announce that Tom Fitzgerald will lead our Halley Post-16 Academy for the 20/21 season.
After receiving hundreds of applications and taking months of deliberation, Dan Stribbling our Director of Football and Founder Harry Watling, decided Tom would be the perfect fit at The Halley Academy.
Tom will be joined by Ben Bennett who will be his assistant.
Tom is a highly experienced coach and UEFA B License Candidate. He is currently an Arsenal Pre-Academy coach and will draw upon this experience from a top Premier League Academy and bring a professional edge to the squad at The Halley.
Ben is a young and enthusiastic coach and has just left Millwall FC’s academy after 6 years as a player . Capping his time off at the club by winning the U18s league . Ben is now also completing his UEFA B Licence with the PFA and brings a unique angle to the Halley coaching staff . Ben Played for three seasons under Director Harry Watling whilst at Millwall and his Professional and Enthusiastic approach has clearly left the right impression years later .
Tom and Ben took their first session as a duo today down on the Halley Academy Playing fields. They had a fantastic first session with the players, commanding high quality in and out of possession. They were impressed with the skill and raw talent on show. We all know The Halley Academy players have real quality with the likes of Azeez, Juior Banjoko, and Kola Solami. This year Tom and Ben will create a professional and ruthless mentality to ensure the squad lives up to their potential both on and off the pitch.
