The APD Tour

APD Tour 2019

The week in review…

The boys left early Monday morning and set off for a long journey up north. They arrived up in Manchester later that night and spent the week at YHA Manchester Hotel.

The week got off to a flying start, getting APD’s biggest win in history. APD beat Blackburn 3-2! The great results didn’t end there as they went on to draw 1-1 with Blackpool, 0-0 with Huddersfield and missed out to a strong Preston North End team 3-1 and to Coventry 4-1.

Notable performances came from Henry Swan who was offered trials at every single club, congratulations Henry! Skipper, Ben Branch, scored 3 goals over the week and was spotted by a footballing Agency as a result of this performances.

Off the pitch, the excitement continued. The boys were treated to a tour of The Etihad stadium and were taken to the Man City Champions League game on Wednesday night. For some of the boys it was their first live football game and APD were delighted to give the boys that opportunity and experience.

Unfortunately, one of the APD Family, Ellis Blake, suffered a very serious injury away to Huddersfield. Ellis broke his femur in an unfortunate coming together with a Huddersfield player. Ellis has had surgery and is on the mend. We want to send our thoughts and prayers to Ellis and his family and we are hoping for a speedy recovery. We extend our thank you’s to Huddersfield Football Club for their medical assistance and the club’s thoughtfulness to send Ellis a signed shirt and a pair of boots.

The tour was a huge success, and we must thank you Director Harry Watling, for organising such amazing fixtures for the players and the other APD Coaches for dedicating their half term to the Tour.
