APD Elite Squad vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

The APD Elite Squad travelled to Wolverhampton on Saturday 21st February to face Wolves Academy, with 15 of our top-performing players selected for the fixture.

The match provided a valuable opportunity to test themselves against Category 1 opposition in a highly competitive environment. The fixture took place at the Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground, home to both the Wolves Academy and First Team, offering our players first-hand experience of an elite professional setting.

This is exactly what APD is all about. The opportunity to compete against a Category 1 Academy at a world class facility is a fantastic platform for our players to test themselves and showcase their ability.’

While it has been a challenging Premier League season for Wolves, the club’s commitment to developing young talent has been clear. Eighteen-year-old Mateus Mané has established himself as a regular in the starting XI, and more recently Tom Edozie marked his impact with a last-minute equaliser against league leaders Arsenal.

The progression of players from the Wolves Academy into the Premier League squad underlines the strength of their pathway. Travelling to Wolves for this fixture presented an excellent opportunity for our scholars to test themselves against a club with a proven record of developing young talent at the highest level.
